Got taken to see this incredible show several years ago now, and I have to admit I wasn't sure it would be my cup of tea!

I was SO wrong! It was one of the most moving, funny, tragic and spectacular performances I have ever seen! I'd love to get my hands on this show to direct - but the professionals are keeping it to themselves. And who could blame them. It has the potential to be a disaster.

It's set in Liverpool and follows the lives of twin boys, who for various reasons have been separated at birth, but come together as friends.

Because the same actors play the kids parts all the way through to adulthood, the first part of the show has the most humour as we see the adults-being-children getting into scrapes and playing games - wasn't expecting it to be that funny!

blood_brothers_photo.jpgIt's as they grow up that their lives become harder and darker. The final scene didn't leave a dry eye in the house - I blubbed like a baby!!!!!

The music is wonderful - everything from sophisticated and powerful heart-wrenchers like 'Tell Me It's Not True' to very 'musical', light-hearted numbers like 'Starting Again'.

Aside from the strength of the two 'brothers', the other main character is their mum - in this case played by Linda Nolan. She has the same journey of tragedy and joy that the boys have.

Excellent show. If you get the chance to see it - GO!
