I haven't laughed so hard for ages! We saw Avenue Q when we were in New York having discovered the music a few months ago. It's brilliant!
It's basically an adult spoof of 'Sesame Street'. Most of the cast operate puppets with bad language and enough hang-ups to keep a psychiatrist busy for years. The show is interspersed with those nuggets of educational wisdom we're used to on large screens on either side of the stage.
The musical numbers include 'It sucks to be me', 'Everyone's a little bit racist', 'The internet is for porn' and 'I'm not wearing underwear today'. All brilliantly funny and more than a little insightful perhaps.
The show follows Princeton, recent graduate, as he struggles to find his purpose in life. Along the way he meets the likes of Kate Monster, Rod & Nicky, Lucy the Slut and Christmas Eve. A couple of my favourites were the 'Bears of Bad Advice' - a cute couple of critters who delight in dispensing the kind of advice that leads to more and more trouble!

It isn't exactly 'high art', but for sheer entertainment value it was FANTASTIC! It's on in the West End at the moment, in fact Daniel Boys (from 'Any Dream Will Do') has just taken over the lead role.
It's a scream. See it!
I've put a sample of the show below - and there's more if you investigate www.bluegobo.com.
