Braunton Productions started life back in 1974 - and the first show? Oklahoma! Performances were centred around Braunton Village Hall and included plays, musicals and pantomimes.
Back in 1988, the Queen's Hall (as it was called then) was struggling financially and called on the local societies to support it - and as such offered rates FAR below those it commands now. This was very attractive to BP and as the cost at the time was little more than the cost for Braunton Village Hall, they decided to take a chance and move to the bigger venue for their performance of 'Fiddler on the Roof'. And that's where they've been ever since.
In 2009 the membership voted to change the name of the society to something considered to have a wider reach.
